Cody, Wyoming (Jan. 1, 2012) – It’s time! The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) and SOG Specialty Knives are proud to unveil the SOG Gunny Fixed Blade Knife, which will be presented to a lucky winner who joins AKTI or renews their membership between January 1 and December 31, 2013.
The winner of the SOG Gunny Fixed Blade Knife will be announced following a drawing at the SOG booth during the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, January 14-17, 2014. Anyone joining or renewing their AKTI membership in 2013 is eligible for the drawing.
“We thank SOG Specialty Knives for this generous donation to promote AKTI membership and help our organization continue to serve as the organization advocating for reasonable and responsible knife laws and consistent enforcement,” remarked AKTI Executive Director Jan Billeb. “Serving as the voice of the entire knife community since 1998, AKTI continues to fulfill its mission to ensure that Americans will always be able to make, buy, sell, own, carry and use knives and edged tools.”
The limited edition, heirloom quality SOG Gunny Fixed Blade Knife is the first of its kind, co-designed by SOG Specialty Knives founder Spencer Frazer and U.S. Marine Corps veteran and well-known actor R. Lee Ermey, also known as “The Gunny.” Production is restricted to 1,000 pieces.
The Gunny knife features a durable, 7-inch, satin finish VG-10 stainless steel blade, high-quality, exotic cocobolo wood handle with stingray hide inlay, and commemorative replica nickel-plated Gunny coin inset. Complete with handcrafted leather sheath, the Gunny knife is presented in its own exquisite walnut box with a full-size commemorative Gunny coin and a certificate of authenticity signed by both Frazer and Ermey. With an overall length of 12.2 inches and weighing 14.1 ounces, each Gunny knife carries a lifetime warranty.
