Legislation will allow manufacture of switchblade knives, subject to certain restrictions, legalizes use by more public safety personnel of switchblades, and adds bias toward closure language to definition of switchblade (swing blade) to eliminate potential confusion with one-handed opening knives.

The American Knife & Tool Institute (www.AKTI.org) announces that it is preparing to publish and distribute the “AKTI State of the Industry” report. The report in 2007 proved to be instrumental in explaining the impact the industry has on American jobs and the economy to decision-makers.
