French knife maker Laguiole Honoré Durand, recently announced an exclusive partnership with European specialty brand importer, Sport Hansa Inc
Laguiole Honoré Durand (pronounced Leg-Oil) is a family-run company located in the village of Laguiole, France where they have been operating for the last 30 years. The Laguiole region is famous for a knife making tradition that dates back to 1829 when the knives were originally used by peasants, vintners and farmers in the field. Nearly 190 years later, Laguiole Honoré Durand is
one of the last makers of the style that manufacture entirely in the town of Laguiole. This results in the impeccable quality and craftsmanship that Laguiole Honoré Durand is known for today.
Sport Hansa will be tasked with positioning the premium brand in multiple retail channels including outdoor,
boutique, gift and jewelry.
“After visiting the Laguiole Honoré Durand factory and meeting with the family, it further reinforced to me that this was a brand we would be honored to represent. There are many knives being sold throughout the world using the Laguiole name. We are excited to offer a brand to the domestic market that is true to the region and their craft.” Says Matt Huff, Managing Director for Sport Hansa.
