Individual members who renewed or joined AKTI from May 15 until December 30th were eligible to win the knife donated by Kershaw President and CEO Jack Igarashi, a member of the AKTI Board of Regents.
“I’m astonished to win, but especially delighted to see AKTI’s recent successes on behalf of all knife owners,” responded winner Hugh Carnes of Tennessee, Ambassador member #A001364, when he was notified by phone.
The American Knife & Tool has been actively changing knife legislation since 1998, including laws in California, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas and Texas. Most recently the seemingly impossible task of changing the Federal Switchblade Law was accomplished by the AKTI-led effort with help from other organization and many individuals assured that folding knives with a bias toward closure would not be classified as switchblades.
